Property of the Week 10.12.12-Wine Country!

It's the end of the week and my dad keeps asking when I am going to post about the Harvest Inn in St. Helena, California...Well here it  finally is!

My dad and step-mom, Wendy, decided they finally had an excuse to go to Napa and that was for a Bar and Bat-Mitzvah. So obviously, they came to me to get them a hotel. Fortunately for me, my job was quite simple, as my dad's friend (who was throwing the festivities) gave him a huge list. From there, I immediately narrowed it down. Among the list was Meadowood and Auberge Du Soleil, which yes, wonderful properties but also $1000+ per night and not in the center of St. Helena. Since the 'Mizvah's were in that vicinity it seemed best to house my parents there with out having to drink and drive.

It is about a 90 minute drive from the San Francisco airports to the Harvest Inn. I like to think of the Harvest Inn as a small hotel neighborhood gem. Not many people know about it, but it is a real find. Not only is it about $300+ less expensive per night, it is very quaint with really nice spacious rooms with unique brick fireplaces. Some rooms even have a Jacuzzi on the terrace! The terraces offer stunning vineyard and mountain views. In the area, you an walk to restaurants and not worry about the drive back.

Some cozy amenities and services include: two heated outdoor pools (one of which is adults only), fitness facility and spas, which offer a relaxing option for the end of your day. Enjoy the signature spa treatments in the spa suite - the privacy of your own guest room - or outdoors in a tented cabana under the redwood grove with a view of the vineyards. There are also a complimentary wine and cheese receptions on Friday and Saturday evenings and a bountiful complimentary wine country breakfast included in your stay.

This "Rustic Chic" property has only 74 rooms and suites, and 8 acres of beautiful landscaping, which makes it a private, relaxing getaway. From Breakfast at the Wine Country Kitchen to the outdoor tented cabana spa treatments, you feel you are in a secluded area in Tuscany. Charming brick walkways are lined with azalea bushes and the lawns are bordered with verdant perennials.

For the adventurous, guests have access to rent mountain bikes to stroll through St. Helena or Napa Valley Vineyards. In addition, Frosch can arrange a breathtaking balloon ride, a round of golf, or custom wine tastings.

You will often see weddings at the Harvest Inn, and for a good reason. You can have that perfect wine country wedding you have always dreamed of. There are numerous outdoor wedding spaces to choose from, and can accommodate anywhere between 40 to 250 people.

Pet-friendly
One of my favorite services that the Harvest Inn provides is that it is pet friendly. I am a huge dog lover (shout out to Lola, our family Bernese Mountain Dog). We try and bring Lola wherever we can. Whether it's to Maine to have her doggie spa treatments at Inn by the Sea, or just to my grandmother's country house, she loves to tag along. Although we would not be able to take her to California, it's always nice to see properties that accept pets and allow owners to take their best friend with them. The Harvest Inn is the most pet friendly Napa hotel, and they pamper your pooch from the moment you check in. From getting their own luxurious bed and custom pet bowls to delicious treats, your pet will have as great of a vacation as you. For those of you that will not be able to bring your pet, Peanut, the residence pup, will be greeting you during your visit.

August-October is prime-time to go to Napa. So pack up your bags for a last minute couples or girls trip to go taste some fine wine! While it may be quite warm during the day, the nights are cool, so pack accordingly and drink your wine!

I hope you all have a wonderful weekend!
